HF manpack radio tutorial

On this video I explain how my portable backpack HF radio works. I explain that radio set consists of a Yaesu FT-857D, an SGC SG-211 antenna tuner, a military whip antenna, and a 5Ah LiPo battery.

I show how the antenna tuner works and test it in a QSO with SU9VB in Egypt on 15m SSB.

  1. Hi, may you publish some closer pics of the aluminium work (dimensions etc.)around the FT-857 and from the bottom, which contains the battery.
It looks like a very useful example of a portable station. How long will the 5Ah LiIo battery hold to make contacts?
